Together, we’re improving health and improving lives. Labcorp is seeking a Laboratory Intern to join our Microbiology Team located in Indianapolis, IN ! Work Schedule : Monday-Friday 8am-5pm / 40hrs per week Job Responsibilities : Perform laboratory testing on patient specimens in accordance with established procedures and quality standards. Analyze test results and utilize independent judgment to generate accurate and reliable results within established quality control requirements. Maintain testing records, documentation, and laboratory data in accordance with regulatory and departmental requirements. Perform all assigned duties in compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs), laboratory policies, and quality guidelines. Participate in research and development activities as assigned. Assist with the development, evaluation, and modification of laboratory procedures and processes. Support quality improvement initiatives and contribute to operational excellence within the laboratory. Collaborate with laboratory personnel to ensure timely and accurate completion of testing activities. Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by laboratory management or the Laboratory Director. Minimum Qualifications: Current enrollment in a scientific Bachelor’s degree program in Biology or Microbiology Additional Job Standards: Interest in biology, microbiology or related lab sciences Demonstrate strong attention to detail and willingness to follow laboratory procedures Eagerness to learn new laboratory skills and scientific concepts Show initiative and the ability to work independently under general supervision Have a genuine interest in laboratory science Maintains professionalism, including punctuality and appropriate conduct Strong communication skills; both written and verbal Actively participates in training sessions and applies newly learned skills accordingly About the Team : The Microbiology department at Labcorp Biopharma Lab Services provides a range of clinical trial services for clients including providing data in different formats. They are a team of 30 members working in different positions ranging from lab assistants to Medical technologists; Scientists and different levels of management.
