As an Engineering Graduate, you will join the J&J MedTech team in Leeds. The Leeds campus is a world-leading orthopaedic development and manufacturing facility, designed to stimulate innovation, communication and collaboration so that we can advance medical device solutions that deliver value for healthcare systems and improve people’s lives. You will be part of a team focused on developing and manufacturing joint reconstruction implants for the hip and knee, including the surgical processes and instruments used during surgery. You will work across our R&D, Quality, Operations and Manufacturing teams, developing your understanding of products and processes currently available on the market and gaining broad insight into the processes that drive the efficiency of our business. Throughout the programme, you will have opportunities to develop yourself and your skills through continuing professional development, using internal J&J courses and selected external courses, such as LinkedIn Learning, that can provide internationally recognised qualifications. Engineering and science graduates are also encouraged and supported to join a professional development scheme leading to membership of a professional institution. You will receive training in new leadership and technical skills, alongside opportunities to apply your business knowledge in an ambitious manufacturing and development environment. Programme Summary A dynamic, two-year Engineering Graduate Development Programme with rotations across Design & Development, Manufacturing, Quality and Operations, providing exposure to the full product lifecycle from concept to commercial manufacture. Opportunities to collaborate with design, manufacturing and quality engineers, clinicians and other technical experts to develop innovative orthopaedic products and processes. Hands-on involvement in projects spanning product design, verification and validation, process development, manufacturing optimisation, design for manufacture, design transfer and continuous improvement. Opportunities to take ownership of and lead project work with support from your supervisors and team. Potential to undertake internal development programmes and gain externally recognised qualifications. Requirements of the Role You must have graduated within the last 2 years with at least a bachelor’s degree in one of the following engineering or scientific disciplines, or a related discipline: Mechanical Engineering Medical Engineering Bioengineering Product Engineering Materials Science Manufacturing Engineering Degree qualification at 2:1 or above.
