Job Description Intern - Commercial & Corporate Affairs - Global Commercial Learning & Development (Marketing Training) As a Gilead intern you will contribute to high-impact meaningful projects that will not only further advance our company’s mission but will allow you to gain real world experience at one of the most innovative organizations in the world. You will also have opportunities to participate in special events including professional development and leadership presentations, social/network building activities and local community volunteer programs. Key Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following: Support the design, development, and launch of the Marketing Learning Academy. Help organize the Academy curriculum by marketing competency, learner journey, proficiency level, and target audience. Research existing internal and external learning resources and identify content that may support priority marketing capabilities. Assist with mapping courses and resources to the Marketing Competency Model and Marketing Excellence Framework. Maintain project trackers, course inventories, decision logs, timelines, and other working documents. Support the development of course outlines, learning objectives, facilitator materials, job aids, communications, presentations, and learner-facing resources. Review draft learning materials for clarity, consistency, accuracy, formatting, and alignment with Academy standards. Collect, organize, and synthesize input from marketers, subject-matter experts, learning partners, vendors, and other stakeholders. Assist with meeting preparation, including agendas, pre-reads, presentation materials, notes, action items, and follow-up communications. Help coordinate stakeholder reviews and track feedback through completion. Support the organization of content for the Marketing Excellence Hub and help assess the learner experience, navigation, and ease of access. Assist with communications and engagement activities that build awareness of the Academy and encourage participation. Help prepare surveys, feedback summaries, usage reports, and other materials used to evaluate learning effectiveness. Contribute ideas for creative, interactive, and learner-centered development experiences. Partner effectively with colleagues across Global Commercial Learning & Development, Marketing, Commercial Operations, and external vendor teams. Manage assigned work independently, communicate progress, identify risks, and meet agreed-upon deadlines. Demonstrate Gilead’s core values of integrity, accountability, teamwork, excellence, and inclusion. Showcase your work with a final presentation (PPT) near the conclusion of your internship Required Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years of age at the start of the internship. Must be enrolled full‑time in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, MBA, JD or PhD program at a nationally accredited U.S. college or university, with continued full‑time enrollment required in the Fall semester following the internship. Must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate (freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior) or as a graduate/doctoral student. Must have a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 2.8 at the time of application and hire (official transcripts will be requested). Must be independently authorized to work in the United States now and in the future (current or future work authorization must not require school or employer sponsorship) official transcripts are required. Must be able to commit to a full‑time internship lasting 10–12 consecutive weeks between May and August. Must be willing and able to work at the designated site for the duration of the internship (relocation may be required). All internships are hybrid; fully remote roles are not offered. Potential Internship Deliverables Depending on project timing and business needs, the intern may contribute to: A structured inventory of Marketing Learning Academy courses and resources. Course-to-competency and learner-journey mapping. A content gap analysis for priority marketing capabilities. Standard templates for course briefs, learning objectives, review cycles, or Academy communications. A curated learning-resource library. Stakeholder interview or feedback summaries. Academy launch and engagement materials. Recommendations to improve the usability and learner experience of the Marketing Excellence Hub. A final presentation summarizing work completed, insights gained, and recommendations for the next phase of the Academy. Preferred Qualifications : Preferred degree level: Graduate, MBA, PhD, JD, or PharmD (based on role alignment) Preferred area of study: Marketing, Business, Communications, Education, Instructional Design, Organizational Development, Life Sciences, or related field. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (MS Office) tools, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook Strong problem‑solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and proactively seek solutions Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a collaborative environment Demonstrated commitment to inclusion and diversity, including the ability to work respectfully with individuals from diverse backgrounds Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment with short timelines Strong self leadership, self-direction, comfort, and experience tackling ambiguous and complex problems.
