Role Overview Evaluate the business impact of product data quality, resolve product domain data issues and inquiries, curate business metadata for discoverability, and monitor adherence to business rules. Partner with governance and downstream teams to prioritize remediation and ensure product datasets are accurate, understandable, and fit for business use. Key Responsibilities Business Impact Monitoring and Prioritization Assess how product domain quality affects key outcomes (e.g., time-to-market, fulfillment accuracy, margin, regulatory compliance, customer experience). Quantify impact using clear metrics and scorecards; prioritize remediation based on business value, risk, and urgency. Communicate findings, trade-offs, and recommendations via concise reports and dashboards to product, supply chain, commercial, and finance stakeholders. Issue Resolution and Business Inquiries Investigate and resolve disputes related to product domain definitions, ownership, lineage, and completeness/accuracy. Manage intake and triage of ad hoc inquiries from business users; provide timely, well-documented responses with root-cause analysis and actions. Drive cross-functional resolution through governance forums; maintain decision logs and track follow-ups to closure. Business Metadata Cataloging and Curation Curate and maintain business metadata for product datasets: context, definitions, descriptions, owners/stewards, usage notes, quality expectations, and authoritative sources. Ensure datasets are discoverable and understandable in the enterprise catalog; keep entries current with versioning and change histories. Align semantic definitions, classifications, and hierarchies with Product Master standards and enterprise taxonomies. Business Rule Adherence and Governance Collaboration Collaborate with governance/capability teams to define, monitor, and report on product business rule application (validation rules, identifier standards, hierarchy integrity, versioning/variant rules). Track violations and exceptions; coordinate remediation plans, waivers, and timelines with accountable owners. Provide periodic compliance summaries and escalate systemic issues through governance channels. Measurement, Reporting, and Continuous Improvement Create and maintain dashboards for product domain health (data quality scores, rule adherence, issue backlog, time-to-resolution, business impact realized). Identify trends and recurring issues; recommend improvements to data capture, processes, and controls (e.g., DQ rules, validations, workflow changes). Update playbooks, FAQs, and guidance to reduce future inquiries and improve self-service and literacy. Education and required experience: Bachelor of Science (or equivalent) in Data Science, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, IT, MBA, or an equivalent scientific/commercial discipline within the pharmaceutical industry. Skills/Competencies: Strong business acumen with a keen ability to understand how data can be leveraged to inform critical enterprise decisions and actions. Proven ability to analyse and assess the value of data assets. Proven potential to effectively collaborate with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders. Intellectual curiosity and ability to identify innovative approaches to addressing data needs. Excellent presentation, analytics, and communication skills, both written and oral, are required to synthesize key issues and communicate/persuade constituencies towards specific actions and initiatives. Ability to operate in dynamic, transforming environment. Strong experience in data management (Data analysis, Data architecture, Data Modelling) Strong experience of SQL, AWS cloud services (S3, EC2, RDS, Redshift), Oracle RDBMS, JIRA, Git Strong organizational, time management and project management skills Self-motivated, proactive, with ability to work independently with minimum direction. Preferred Experience and Skills: Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a geographically dispersed team Ability to learn and use new technologies Ability to manage through complexity and ambiguity along with competing priorities.
