 Job Description Job Summary The Continuous Improvement Engineer is responsible for facilitating and leading continuous improvement initiatives at the GFO site that drive measurable cost savings across labor, materials, yield, and other operational areas. This role partners closely with internal stakeholders and process owners to identify improvement opportunities, develop project plans, and implement solutions that enhance safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance. The Continuous Improvement Engineer will support the site's strategic objective of expanding the BD Production System (BD Excellence) across remaining value streams. The primary focus of this position is to identify, lead, and support continuous improvement projects, address root causes of operational challenges, eliminate waste, and help achieve annual plant performance goals. Key Responsibilities Lead and execute continuous improvement projects focused on improving production flow, reducing waste, and increasing operational efficiency. Facilitate rapid improvement events (Kaizen) by engaging cross-functional teams and manufacturing associates. Conduct audits of daily startup Tier meetings and Gemba Walks to ensure adherence to operational excellence standards. Lead medium to large-scale capital improvement projects. Facilitate or co-facilitate BD Excellence review meetings. Identify, develop, and implement standardized processes throughout the facility. Analyze processes and data to identify opportunities for cost reduction and performance improvement. Collaborate with operations, quality, engineering, and other functional teams to drive sustainable improvements. Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Education & Experience Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or another technical field of study; OR Minimum of five (5) years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment. Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Experience leading continuous improvement initiatives and implementing cost-saving improvements in a manufacturing environment. Experience in one or more of the following areas: Project Management Value Stream Leadership Production Leadership Quality Change Management Hands-on experience with problem-solving methodologies, continuous improvement tools, and root cause analysis. Strong communication, facilitation, and consulting skills. Excellent analytical abilities and business acumen. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio. Basic knowledge of ERP systems used for data extraction (e.g., SAP, JDE). Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results on time and within budget. Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
