The Opportunity: Under moderate supervision, responsible for ensuring that all shipping and receiving documents and functions are completed accurately and on time. Communicates with customers as required and, with the Transportation Department, develops inbound and outbound freight schedules. Mentors less-experienced peers and assist supervisors, but does not formally supervise others. What we’re looking for: Education: High School degree preferred. Experience: 3 years applicable experience required. 1 year of good Lead / Supervisory and communication skills. Familiarity with personal computers and material handling equipment is essential. Strong decision making and coaching skills. Ability to drive results. Mentors less-experienced peers and assists supervisors, but does not formally supervise others. Helps establish work schedules. Ensures that the schedules are correctly implemented and that jobs are completed properly. Applies sound communication and motivational techniques in leading, supervising, coaching and disciplining associates. Provides input into performance evaluation for recommending promotions, wage increases, associate development and terminations. Supervises checking and unloading of inbound shipments, orderly stacking of product and picking and staging of outbound shipments in accordance with high level of productivity. Verifies required inbound/outbound paperwork with drivers, ensuring that all products are properly counted. Ensures inbound and outbound shipments are complete and free of damage. Completes all necessary records and reports in a timely and accurate fashion. Computes and analyzes daily, weekly production metrics. Assists in physical inventories and cycle counts. Maintains product locator system. Ensures the optimal utilization of space. Rotates product as appropriate. Ensures the efficient and safe operation of material handling equipment. Maintains a clean, neat and orderly work area. Assists in maintaining warehouse security. Conducts operations in a manner that promotes safety and in accordance with OSHA and other appropriate standards. Attends warehouse planning meetings. Acts as liaison between employees and management. Communicates industry and brand knowledge to associates. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is exposed to an industrial warehouse environment. The associate works near moving mechanical machinery and noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The job requires working in heights, exposure to changes in temperature, driving equipment, and maybe exposed to dust, fumes, or gases. The associate is required to stand and walk for the majority of the working day. The physical requirements of the job are for associates to talk, hear, bend/stoop, squat, crawl, climb height, reach above shoulder height, crouch, kneel, balance, and push/pull. Furthermore, the job requires associates to lift/carry/push or pull up to 75 pounds with or without assistance. Associates use both hands for repetitive actions such as grasping and manipulating as well as both feet for repetitive movement operating foots controls. Pay Transparency: The expected pre-tax pay for this position is $47,000.00 - $75,900.00 Actual pay may differ depending on relevant factors such as prior experience and geographic location.
