Senior Account Director , Cell & Gene Therapy Position Summary Catalent is seeking a Senior Account Director, Cell & Gene Therapy to drive new business acquisitions across our Cell & Gene Therapy manufacturing network. This field-based, hunter-focused role is responsible for identifying , pursuing, and securing new business opportunities with biopharmaceutical companies. The Account Director will serve as a trusted partner, evaluating customer development and manufacturing needs, positioning Catalent's Cell & Gene Therapy solutions, and leading opportunities from initial engagement through contract execution. Success in this role requires a proactive business development mindset, strong relationship-building skills, and the ability to navigate complex outsourcing decisions within the biotech and pharmaceutical industry. Location: Field-Based (Preference for South Francisco Region) Shift: Monday – Friday, First Shift The Role Develop and secure new business opportunities with pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies through proactive prospecting and relationship building. Lead early-stage opportunity qualification by assessing customer needs, strategic fit, and outsourcing requirements in partnership with internal technical and commercial teams. Present Catalent's Cell & Gene Therapy capabilities and value proposition to prospective clients through meetings, presentations, and site visits. Drive opportunities through the sales process, including solution development, scope definition, pricing strategy, and proposal delivery. Build long-term customer relationships that maximize revenue growth, support successful project execution, and generate future business opportunities. Other duties as assigned. Candidate Requirements Master’s degree or equivalent work experience in Cell and Gene Therapy or related life sciences fields. Minimum 5 years of life sciences commercial experience with a strong consultative focus on selling CDMO/CRO services, custom projects, or biomanufacturing services. Proven track record of developing and closing business opportunities within the biopharmaceutical sector. Experience building relationships with stakeholders ranging from technical teams to executive leadership. Strong business acumen, strategic selling skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Skills & Background Experience supporting Cell & Gene Therapy development and manufacturing programs. Established knowledge of and relationships within the West Coast biopharmaceutical market. Compensation The anticipated salary range for this position in California is $1 49 ,000 – $ 215 ,000 plus eligibility for a sales incentive plan . The final salary offered to a successful candidate may vary, and will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, skillset, education, business needs, etc. Catalent is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.
